Students, trainees, faculty, and staff are all welcome to live on the Avenues. Located on 3rd and 5th Avenues, these spacious houses and apartments are just steps away from both the Parnassus campus and the vibrant Inner Sunset neighborhood. It is a great choice for students and trainees seeking a single or shared room in a group house or apartment. Faculty and staff may choose their own apartment, flat, or single-family house.
Faculty receive priorityfor 5th Avenue Houses. Students receive priorityfor 3rd Avenue Houses, including 145 Irving Street apartments.

Avenues Houses for students and trainees
Each Avenues House contains fully furnished common areas consisting of a living room, kitchen, dining room, and bathrooms. In addition, each bedroom is furnished with an extra-long twin bed, bookshelf, chest, desk, and desk chair. There are no university permits issued for parking, but residents may apply for city street parking permits. The 145 Irving apartments are not furnished and residents will need to bring their own furniture. Parking options are not available.
Avenues Houses for faculty and staff
These units are unfurnished and residents will need to bring their own furniture. Units contain all major kitchen appliances, in-building or in-unit laundry, and most have an assigned garage parking space. If so, the cost is included in the rent. Residents in the units that do not have an assigned space may apply with Housing Services. Street parking may be available, and permits are arranged through theCity of SanFrancisco SFMTA.

• N-Judah Muni line within 1-2 blocks
• Andronico’s Market within .6 miles
Avenue Housing is located adjacent to the Parnassus campus along 3rd Avenue, 5th Avenue, Kirkham Street, and Irving Street. The campus is in the Inner Sunset / Cole Valley neighborhoods, just south of Golden Gate Park.
If you are lucky, you will be living in Avenue Housing during your brief training here in UCSF. I felt at home immediately.
