Membership Hibernation
- Maintains your membership at a reduced rate of $30 per month
- Only offered from the first to the last day of the month; no partial months.
- Not available for lockers and Masters Swim

- Requests must be received by the 25th of the month to take effect on the 1st of the following month.
- Full monthly fees will apply if returning early from hibernation.

Credit/Refund Policy
We will be happy to honor a current discount and process a credit for the difference to your account if it occurs within 5 days of enrollment. To qualify for an adjustment, please contact Member Services by e-mail at member.services@ucsf.edu. To help us verify eligibility, include your name, member ID, date of enrollment, and promotion details.
To maintain the fitness center, part or all of the facility may be temporarily unavailable from time to time while repairs or renovations take place. Due to repairs, maintenance, or special occasions, we may be required to restrict use or temporarily close the facility. No reduction or suspension of membership fees or other charges will be offered.
The Fitness & Recreation Centers at UCSF adhere to a no-refund policy for all customer-cancelled registration activities, programs, sessions, lessons, and trips. Therefore:
- Credit is issued if a customer cancels at least 7 days prior to the first day of an activity, program, session, lesson, pre-trip meeting, or trip.
- For activities, programs, sessions, lessons, or trips costing more than $30, credit will be issued as a gift card for the amount paid, less a $30 cancellation fee.
- For activities, programs, sessions, lessons, or trips costing $30 or less, no credit will be issued, and no cancellation fee will be charged.
- No credit is issued if a customer cancels after the deadline stipulated above.
- Refunds are issued only when the Fitness & Recreation Centers at UCSF must cancel an activity, program, session, lesson, or trip; the full amount is issued to the customer in the same form as the original payment.
- UCSF Camps and Recreational Sports leagues also adhere to the above no-refund and cancellation-fee policies, but each camp or league has its own cancellation deadline.
- Credits or make-up classes will not be given for lessons missed or for lack of participation.
Rules and Regulations
As a member, you agree to follow all rules and regulations now in force or amended, including, but not limited to, those regarding membership terms, hours of operation (including holidays and facility closures), use of equipment and services, personal hygiene, and attire. We reserve the right to revoke or suspend your membership, without refund, if you or your guests fail to follow any rules and regulations, for reasons of nuisance, disturbance of other members, moral turpitude or fraud, or if we determine that your actions may endanger yourself or other persons.
Personal Information
Members and UCSF students are responsible for keeping personal information up to date with Member Services. This includes, but is not limited to, name, address, phone number(s), e-mail address, and/or UCSF affiliation. This information is used to notify you of updates and/or any issues relating to membership accounts, as well as Fitness & Recreation Center facility and program mailings. Your personal information will not be distributed or sold to any party and will only be used for purposes within the UCSF Fitness & Recreation Centers. Members who pay their membership or locker dues via credit card are required to keep their credit card information up to date with Member Services.
Child Members
Members ages 15-17 may access the facility without adult supervision once authorized by a parent and receive the same Fitness & Recreation Center privileges as adult members, including full access to the sauna, massage chairs, Group Fitness classes, equipment, and courts.
Access to the sauna and massage chair is limited to members aged 14 and older. Members 14 and under must have a responsible adult present at the time of entry and at all times while in the facility. With supervision by a responsible adult, a child 3-14 may use the following areas: basketball, racquetball and squash courts, and swimming pool(s). With supervision by a responsible adult, children ages 0-2 may use the Bakar Indoor Pool for Family Swim only.
Youth guests 3-17 is $15 (Bakar)/visit, $10 (Millberry)/visit. Children 2 years old and under are free.
Payment Options
The primary member of the account must provide current payment information for all members. All members are required to provide credit/debit card information for monthly membership and locker dues. Monthly membership and locker dues are automatically charged on the 10th day of each month, for the current month. Please keep all payment information up to date. Accounts that are 30 days past due will be charged a $30 late fee for each month of past due balance.
UC Reciprocity Program
UC Students: Currently enrolled students at UC schools, except UC Law San Francisco, are eligible for reciprocal access from September 1–May 31 under the UC Reciprocity Program. UC students must present their UC ID along with proof of enrollment (class schedule) for the current quarter at their UC school. Without valid proof, guest or membership fees will apply. UC students can also purchase a membership at reduced rates throughout the year.
UCSF Fitness & Recreation Members (non-students):
7-Day Guest Pass: A guest pass may be requested at Member Services before visiting an alternate UC. The pass grants 7 consecutive days of access at any alternate UC recreational facility and offers local member rates on additional programs and services. Please inquire about eligibility requirements and options with the specific facility you wish to attend.
Longer Than 7 Days: If more than 7 consecutive days of access is desired, passes and memberships can be purchased by UCSF employee members at the local campus employee rate, and by UCSF community and Alumni members at the local campus community and Alumni rate, if available. Please inquire about eligibility requirements and pricing options with the specific facility you wish to attend.
The UC Reciprocity program provides access to facilities across UC campuses only. Additional fees may apply to programs and specialty facilities (e.g., aquatic centers, equestrian centers).
Campuses included are: UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Merced, UC Riverside, UC Santa Cruz, UC Irvine, UCLA, UC San Diego, and UC Santa Barbara (Berkeley extension is not included)
UC Law San Francisco Students
Currently enrolled students at UC Law San Francisco are eligible to purchase an Affiliated Student membership at a reduced membership rate. Proof of current enrollment (class schedule) and a UC Law San Francisco student ID is required for eligibility.
