UCSF is excited to offer Park and Ride locations that serve the Parnassus Heights campus. These lots provide commuters with an opportunity to reduce their transportation expenses while helping to alleviate congestion on our campuses. Participants enjoy a free UCSF shuttle ride from the Park and Ride to their campus destination.

Where are the Park and Ride lots, and how much do they cost?
- Japan Center Garage - 1610 Geary Blvd - $99/month
- 5th and Mission Garage - 833 Mission St. - $99/month
- Music Concourse Garage - 800 10th Ave. - $149/month
- Mission Center Building (MCB) Lot – 1855 Folsom St. - $100/month
- Buchanan Dental Garage – 100 Buchanan St. - $100/month
Garages are available by calendar month and rates are not prorated. At Music Concourse, Japan Center, and 5th and Mission garages, sign up by 12pm on the second Friday of the month to begin parking that month. Participants enrolling after that will start the first day of the following month. (Example – sign up April 17, start May 1). Buchanan enables signups on any date in the month, but no proration is allowed. MCB is not accepting new applications.
Who is eligible?
Commuters to Parnassus Heights; the Park and Ride program is presently focused on parking solutions for commuters who are facing challenges at their current campus lots due to lot obstructions or closures at Parnassus Heights.
UCSF commuters working at Mission Bay, Mt. Zion, and ZSFGH campuses (with the exception of 5th and Mission Garage) are not eligible at this time to participate in the first phase of this program.
What are the garage hours?
- Japan Center Garage: Monday-Friday, 5 a.m. to 10 p.m.
- Mission Center Building Lot: Monday-Sunday, 24/7
- Buchanan Dental Garage: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
- 5th and Mission Garage: Monday-Sunday, 24/7
- Music Concourse Garage: Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.
How do I get from the Park and Ride lot to Parnassus?
MCB and Buchanan Dental garages: the free UCSF Lime shuttle will take you from the parking lots to campus. From Buchanan Dental, you can also hop on the N Judah (comes every 10 minutes) or the 6 bus (comes every 20 minutes).
Japan Center Garage: take the free UCSF Cherry shuttle. Find the schedule here.
I work on weekends. Are these Park and Ride garages open?
Only MCB Park and Ride is open on the weekend. Please note, there is no shuttle service.
Japan Center, Music Concourse, and the Buchanan Dental locations are not open on the weekends; however, a park and ride permit allows you to park at ACC Garage at Parnassus Heights on weekends and holidays.
