How to Use PayByPhone
- Visit PayByPhone (download the app for the best mobile experience)
- Enter UCSF location number, which can be found above
- Select “Months” or “Days” (drop-down menu)
- Enter parking duration (1 month, or 1 day)
- Click “Continue” and complete the credit card payment (we suggest using a pre-tax debit card; see Commuter Benefits section)
With PayByPhone, you receive in-and-out privileges, and you can park at more than one campus in a day.
Please pay at entry to avoid a citation and be prepared to show your payment confirmation and UCSF ID to the attendant when exiting gated parking garages. To pay for parking at a gateless facility, use PayByPhone at entry. Hourly parking is available at gated garages (pull a ticket at entry and pay cashier at exit).
Alternate Vehicle
If you have a monthly permit and need to park a different vehicle, please email Transportation@ucsf.edu at least two days in advance.
If you’re using PayByPhone, you can add alternate vehicles directly through the app. However, if you’ve already purchased a monthly permit, please contact UCSF Transportation for assistance before switching vehicles.
Monthly Parking Passes
Monthly parking passes are available for purchase from the 1st to the 25th of each month.
- Passes are not pro-rated — even if purchased after the 1st, they will still expire at the end of the month.
- If you plan to park on campus 13 or more weekdays per month (during daytime hours), a monthly pass is likely more cost-effective than paying daily rates.
We offer two types of monthly passes:
- Calendar Month Pass: Valid from the 1st to the end of the same month.
- 30-Day Rolling Pass: Valid for 30 days from the date of purchase.
- Note: These options are not available at Parnassus Heights.
Hourly Parking
Hourly parking is available only at Mission Bay and Mount Zion. Parking can be paid through the PayByPhone app or a pay station at ungated garages or surface lots. At a gated garage, please pull a ticket upon entering and pay the cashier at exit. The rate is $5 per hour.
