UCSF is committed to supporting individuals in need of disability accommodations. While the $7/day ADA parking rate and designated ADA-accessible locations remain the same, the process for obtaining a valid UCSF ADA permit is evolving to ensure better support and access.
ADA Parking Process
To access ADA parking and the discounted $7 daily rate at UCSF, follow the steps below:
Step 1: Eligibility
A DMV-issued Disabled Person Parking Placard or License Plate alone is not sufficient for ADA parking at UCSF. All requests must go through UCSF's official accommodation process.
Step 2: Initiate an Interactive Consultation
UCSF’s Disability Services teams will assess and determine your accommodation needs.

- UCSF Students:
Step 3: UCSF Issues ADA Permit
If an accommodation is approved, UCSF Transportation will issue an ADA parking permit and confirm approved parking locations (e.g., ACC or Westside/Dental areas at Parnassus). ADA permit holders will receive payment instructions or a PayByPhone code.
Step 4: Park and Display
Once you receive your UCSF ADA permit:
- Park in a designated or general stall at approved locations
- Display your DMV placard in the vehicle
- Pay using your provided method
Note: This new process is rolling out first at Parnassus Heights and will expand to other UCSF locations, including Mission Bay.
