Crafting the Perfect Menu for Your event
The menu you serve is almost as important as the agenda you plan. From croissants and coffee to full-course dinners, selecting the ideal menu is key to creating memorable event experiences. While we do not offer in-house catering, our team is happy to recommend trusted caterers who can craft the perfect menu for your gathering.
Healthy Beverage Initiative
In alignment with UCSF's mission and commitment to the health and well-being of our faculty, staff, students, patients, and visitors, we proudly promote healthier beverage options through the Healthy Beverage Initiative.
Caterers must adhere to this initiative, which ensures the availability of healthier beverage choices. UCSf only sells zero-calorie beverages or non-sweetened drinks with nutritional value—such as milk and 100% juice—in onsite eateries, including cafeterias, vending machines, and retail locations.

Alcohol Guidlines
We welcome the inclusion of beer, wine, and champagne at your event, but please note that hard liquor is not permitted on any UCSF campus. All alcohol must be served by a pre-approved licensed caterer, and if you'd like include beer, wine, and/or champagne, simply click here to complete our online Alcohol Request Form.
Catering Guidelines for UCSF Clients
If you’re hosting an event on campus, Moffitt Catering is our primary partner for full-service catering. However, due to staffing limitations, Moffitt Catering may not be able to accommodate all events.
We recommend reaching out to Moffitt Catering as early as possible to inquire about your event needs. Please note that UC policy requires all full-service catering (including alcohol service) to be contracted through Moffitt Catering.
If Moffitt Catering is unable to support your event, you must contact CoveredServices@ucsf.edu for approval to work with another pre-approved Full-Service caterer. Full-Service catering includes any event where alcohol will be served.

By collaborating with our recommended caterers and adhering to UCSF’s guidelines, you can ensure your event is both seamless and successful.
