The Back-Up Care Program is no longer just about back-up care. The program now features several other services you can access through your back-up care days. You may book these services on the Back-Up Care website after registering for the Back-Up Care Program.
In-Person Camps
Help your child remain engaged and active when school's out. Book day camps – available at Steve & Kate's Camp and Camp Galileo – for summer and other select school breaks. Ages served vary but children are generally required to be at least 4 or 4 1/2 years old. Each day camp day counts as a back-up care day and regular co-pays apply. Submit a request for in-person camp through the Back-Up Care website.
A few other day camps are part of the Back-Up Care Program network but only at select locations. To learn more, search for programs near you on the Back-Up Care website (accessible following Back-Up Care Program registration).
Virtual Tutoring
Whether you're trying to figure out your kids' homework, helping them study for a test, supporting your college student with their classes, or all the above, your tutoring benefit – available for ages 5 and up – makes life easier. Back-up care days can be redeemed for virtual 1-1 tutoring provided by Sylvan Learning and Varsity Tutors. Exchange 1 back-up care day (and a $30 co-pay) for 4 hours of tutoring, scheduled in 1-hour increments. Submit a tutoring request through the Back-Up Care website and then schedule the days and times that work best for your family.
Virtual Camps
Need new activities for your child that will give you time to focus on work when you're all at home? Turn to virtual options powered by Steve & Kate's Camp. Virtual camps are available weekdays, from 6am-3pm PT, for ages 4-12 years. Each camp day consists of a series of sessions, most of which are 50-60 minutes long. Choose from a range of activities – graphic design, virtual field trips, science, and more – all led by engaging instructors.
There is no co-pay for virtual camps but each virtual camp day does count as a back-up care day. Children may attend as many sessions as they wish over the course of the day. Please note there is no fractional exchange– you will lose a back-up care day even if your child attends just one session on a given camp day. Submit a virtual camp request through the Back-Up Care website and then schedule the days and times that work best for your family.
