What is a multipurpose lactation room? A private space within a building planned for a primary use, but because of features, qualifies for the alternate use as a lactation room. California law provides that lactation takes precedence over other uses of a multipurpose room during the time it is actually being used for lactation purposes.
The lactation rooms at BCH Oakland are available to staff, students, and family members of patients.
