How to Sign Up

Go to www.login.commuterbenefits.com and click on ‘Sign Up Now’.
Enter the UCSF Company ID: 1550
Enter your name
Enter your zip code
Confirm your username, create a password, and click ‘Next’.
You are now registered! Edenred will mail you a debit MasterCard that you can use to make your transit and parking purchases with the pre-tax dollars you set aside each month.
Login to your commuter benefits account, click on ‘Account’ to update your mailing address.
Next, click on ‘Place an Order’ to choose the amount you want to be deducted each month pre-tax from your paycheck for your commute expenses.
NOTE: According to IRS Regulations, UCSF is not allowed to refund the balance of the card to cash. We recommend monitoring your usage to avoid accumulating a large balance.
“According to Section 1.132-9, Q&A 14(d), IRS regulations specify that amounts set aside under a compensation reduction agreement are not refundable other than by payment of another qualified transportation fringe under the employer’s plan.”

Transit Account -- pays for public transit (Muni, BART, Caltrain, ferry, etc.), and rideshare (carpool, vanpool, UberX Share and Lyft's Shared).
Parking Account -- pays for parking permits, and parking garages and meter fees.

Please note it may take up to 6-8 weeks from your hire date for Edenred to recognize you as eligible to register in the system.
