The On-Demand shuttle will run from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on December 22-23, 26, 29-30, and January 2.
We are pleased to offer on-demand shuttle service for patients and their families, available Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, within a half-mile radius of the Mission Bay Campus. As of July 22, 2024, we have upgraded to the Tripshot app to enhance your experience and provide greater convenience. We no longer use the Ridecell software for on-demand shuttles. Follow the instructions below to request a shuttle.
How to Request a Ride:
1. Download the Tripshot app on your smartphone / smart mobile device.



2. Once you open the app, you will be on the Setup page. Type in “ucsf” for theService Name and click Next to set the zone for the UCSF Shuttle Service. This is a one-time setup.
3. Tap the On Demand button at the bottom left of the menu. Use the search bar to:
- See a list of preset shuttle stops within the service area (half-mile radius of Mission Bay Campus)
- Or type any address within the perimeter to route to the nearest available stop. Note: No On-demand service in the red areas.
4. Select your destination, review your pickup/drop-off location and times.
5. For Special Requests, add a Pickup Note.
6. Click Request Ride to confirm.

7. You can now:
- View real-time location and accurate ETA
- View driver and vehicle details
- Cancel the ride if needed
8. Your on-demand ride will be displayed on the Home screen. Tap to view.
9. Use the Sidebar Menu and select My Trips to view your rides.

Passenger Guidelines:
UCSF On-Demand shuttles welcome patients and patient family members on board. For UCSF faculty, staff, students who are needing to use this service, please show your UCSF ID when boarding. Minors are welcome, in the company of a parent or chaperone. Please refrain from conversations with the driver while riding on the shuttles. As a courtesy to other passengers, please refrain from eating, drinking and cell phone conversations while riding on the shuttles.
