All offices, labs, clinics/units, and event planners at UCSF can now be recognized through our Sustainability Certification Program, helping UCSF provide a healthier planet by reducing emissions, saving energy, conserving water, and reducing waste.
Getting your workspace certified is the best way to get involved with UCSF’s zero waste and decarbonization goals and you'll be recognized for your efforts. The certifications are offered year-round and we recommend workspaces get their certification updated every two years.
Office, Lab, Clinic/Unit, and Event Planner Certifications
- Get started by filling out an interest form: let us know who you are.
- Meet our team: someone from our team will reach out to schedule a brief introductory call and walk you through the process.
- Take action on recommendations: depending on your area, we will provide you with recommendations for a range of specific actions to implement.
- Keep in touch: we'll return for another visit to see what improvements have been made and award points. Your certification level is awarded based on the total number of points your group earns.

- Gold - 90%
- Platinum- 100%
