The UCSF Advisory Committee on Sustainability (UACS) is accepting nominations for the 2026 Sustainability Awards. Each year, the UCSF Sustainability Awards recognize outstanding individuals and teams across UCSF Campus and Health who are driving meaningful progress toward our sustainability goals. Award categories include Students, Faculty, Residents, Campus and Health Staff, and Teams.
“Our goal is to foster a more vibrant and sustainable campus for all— and your involvement and support are crucial to achieving this vision," said Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS, at the 2024 UCSF hosted UC GCLC meeting.

The nominee must be employed or enrolled at UCSF. Nominators must specify the person or team that best fulfills the goals listed below. Self-nominations are permissible.
Nominees will be considered and scored based upon each of the following criteria. They do not have to meet all the criteria or excel equally in each category to be considered.
The ideal candidate is an individual or group that has:
- Engaged UCSF campus/health in an ongoing dialogue and is instilling a culture of sustainability amongst the community.
- Gone above and beyond the duties of their position to integrate and advance environmental sustainability into existing or new campus/health programs in education, research, operations, and/or public service.
- Shown a positive impact and enabling UCSF to meet environmental sustainability goals.
Award Ceremony:
The awardees will receive an environmentally friendly physical award and will be highlighted at a campus-wide recognition ceremony presented by Chancellor Hawgood.
Event details: April 15, 2026 from around 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. (exact time TBD) at Mission Bay.
The UCSF Sustainability Award recognizes staff, students, faculty, and teams for their role in the progress being made toward these goals.
