Anna Levitt, Director of Energy, Utilities & Sustainability, PE
Anna Levitt is a licensed mechanical engineer in California with 20 years of experience in energy engineering and program management, 17 of those spent at the University of California. She currently serves a dual role, as Director, Utilities & Sustainability, UCSF Health, and Technical Director, Sustainability, UCSF.
Prior to joining UCSF, Anna served as Energy Manager at UC San Diego Campus and Health, where she managed the campus’s $95 million energy efficiency program.
When she's not managing energy, Anna is playing old-time American fiddle and spending quality time with her wife and two young kids.

Seema Gandhi, Anesthesiologist and Medical Director of Sustainability, MD
Seema Gandhi is an anesthesiologist and medical director of sustainability at UCSF Health, playing an instrumental role in environmental efforts that make UCSF a leader in sustainable health care. At UCSF, she has engaged colleagues to eliminate desflurane, an anesthetic gas with the highest global warming potential, and spearheaded a multidisciplinary team to decrease direct emissions of greenhouse gases from the operating room. Ongoing projects include energy utilization and carbon emission mapping for UCSF operating rooms; identifying opportunities for reducing heating, ventilation, and air conditioning energy usage; and creating an operating room equipment shutdown checklist for off-peak hours. Gandhi has presented on health care sustainability and environmental impacts of anesthesia at health care institutions across the country.

Kaiyi Wang, Sustainability Utilization Analyst
Kaiyi Wang joined UCSF Health sustainability team in 2019. She is passionate about making our clinical practices more sustainable and sustainability research for best practices. She has been working on a variety of clinical mitigation projects for emission and waste reduction, including reducing emissions from inhaled anesthetics, curbing the operating room energy usage through HVAC setbacks, etc. Kaiyi received a master’s degree in environmental health science from University of California Los Angeles. In her free time, she enjoys hiking and snowboarding in the great outdoors and cheering on the Bay Area’s favorite sports team.

Isabel Navarrete, Sustainability Analyst
Isabel joined the UCSF Health Sustainability team in 2020 as a sustainability waste analyst. She manages the municipal waste program and works closely with City of San Francisco and waste vendors to ensure the materials we use are disposed appropriately. She received a mechanical engineering degree from UC San Diego. In her free time, Isabel enjoys running, reading, and cooking.

Mikayla White, Sustainability Analyst
Mikayla joined the UC Health Sustainability team in October of 2022 as a Zero Waste Analyst fellow. In October of 2023, she rejoined the team as a Sustainability Waste Analyst, working on the Transforming UC Health Systems to Reduce Impact of Climate on Vulnerable Populations project. The project focuses on climate resilience, sustainability reporting, and emissions reductions. Mikayla received her bachelor’s degree from UC San Diego with a major in Environmental Systems: Environmental Policy and a minor in Climate Change Studies. In her free time, she likes to hike, ski, read, and crochet.

Amelia Jarolim, Zero Waste Fellow
Amelia joined the Sustainability Team in October 2025 as a Zero Waste Fellow for UCSF Health. Her work will focus on minimizing waste and ensuring proper waste sorting at the ACC Building to reduce the hospital's environmental footprint. She will achieve this through conducting monthly waste audits at hospital units, hosting waste sorting trainings, and planning and coordinating campus wide e-waste events. Amelia graduated from UC Berkeley in the Spring with a degree in Conservation and Resource Studies and a minor in Geospatial Information Science (GIS). In her free time she enjoys running, hiking, thrifting, and hanging out with her dog.

Hannah Kelley, Sustainability Fellow
Hannah joined the Sustainability Team in June 2025 as a Sustainability Intern for Labor & Delivery. She began her work by shadowing procedures and engaging with staff to identify opportunities for improvement. Her projects focus on helping the unit reduce its environmental footprint through improved waste management practices and staff education. Hannah is a senior at UC Berkeley, where she studies Molecular Environmental Biology with a concentration in Human Health and the Environment. In her free time Hannah enjoys spending time outdoors, caring for dogs, staying active, and working on craft projects.
