The energy and water dashboards display utility information to track energy and water conservation at UCSF Health West Bay locations.
Our energy goals include reducing Greenhouse Gas emissions by 90% by 2045, using 2019 levels as the baseline and reducing energy use per square foot by at least 2% annually.
As of 2020, on-site solar energy has been produced at the Gateway Medical Building at Mission Bay, accounting for 10% of the building’s electrical consumption. In 2021, UCSF Health switched to the UC Clean Power Program, making all purchased electricity carbon-free. The energy dashboard shows energy use intensity and energy use by commodity. Energy use data is from UCSF Health-owned locations.
Our water goal is to reduce growth-adjusted potable water consumption by 36% by 2025. UCSF Health is focusing on maximizing water conservation while developing water recovery projects, including implementing high-efficiency fixtures and equipment, water recycling, and using smart meters to identify efficiency opportunities. The water dashboard shows UCSF Health's water usage over the past few years from UCSF Health-owned locations and includes toilets, sinks, showers, landscape irrigation, cooling systems, and sterile processing.
Our energy goals include achieving carbon neutrality for direct and purchased emissions by 2025, achieving carbon neutrality for indirect emissions by 2030, and reducing energy use per square foot by at least 2% annually.
