About the UCSF Sustainability Awards
Since 2011, the UCSF Sustainability Awards have recognized outstanding individuals and teams across the UCSF Campus and Health who are driving meaningful progress toward our sustainability goals.
Nominations are reviewed by the UCSF Advisory Committee on Sustainability (UACS), which selects awardees in the categories of Students, Faculty, Residents, Campus and Health Staff, and Teams.
“Our goal is to foster a more vibrant and sustainable campus for all— and your involvement and support are crucial to achieving this vision," said Chancellor Sam Hawgood, MBBS, 2024.
Chancellor Sam Hawgood presents Karim Salgado of Carmelina's Taqueria with a sustainability award.
Nomination Criteria
Nominations for 2026 are closed.
The ideal candidate is an individual or group employed or enrolled at UCSF that has:
- Engaged UCSF campus/health in an ongoing dialogue and is instilling a culture of sustainability amongst the community.
- Gone above and beyond the duties of their position to integrate and advance environmental sustainability into existing or new campus/health programs in education, research, operations, and/or public service.
- Shown a positive impact and enabling UCSF to meet environmental sustainability goals.
The UCSF Sustainability Award recognizes staff, students, faculty, and teams for their role in the progress being made toward these goals.
