Mission Statement
UCSF is working to meet the UC system-wide goal of carbon neutrality by 2025, through a strategy integrating resource conservation, system performance, reliability, occupant health and comfort, and supporting the academic mission. Our long-term strategy is focused on increasing district energy connections, with centralized mechanical equipment that include elements such as a general transition from steam to hot water, heat recovery chillers, thermal or other energy storage, and heat pumps for domestic hot water. UCSF prioritizes water conservation, and integrates these efforts with energy and utility projects.
