Research shows that practicing gratitude is associated with better physical and mental health, and stronger social bonds. At the October UCSF Block Party, Family Services invited attendees to take a moment to reflect on what they're thankful for and record their thoughts on paper leaves, which were then hung on our gratitude trees. By the end of the Block Party, our five little trees were covered with bright foliage.
Curious about what people wrote on their leaves? Family, friends, and co-workers were, by far, mentioned the most with a number of people giving shout-outs specifically to their siblings, parents, and "work family." Below are some of the other responses.
