The UCSF child care centers' wait pool registration process has 3 steps.
Step 1
A few important points to note:
- If you are new to Bright Horizons, before you can begin the wait pool registration process you must first sign up with the Bright Horizons Family Information Center by creating a username and password and setting up an account. Please write down your username and password as you will need to access your account to update wait pool registration details and handle enrollment-related matters.
- During the Family Info Center sign up process, you will be asked to enter your employer's name. Type in "UCSF" and then select "UCSF - University of California San Francisco" (or "UCSF - University of California San Francisco - Students" if applicable) from the drop-down menu to ensure you will be charged the UCSF wait pool registration fee of $75 instead of a higher amount. Misidentifying your employer or identifying your employer as just "UCSF" will result in registration fee errors.
- The UCSF child care centers’ tuition schedule offers three care options: 5 days a week (M-F), 3 days a week (MWF) and 2 days a week (TuTh). Although the Bright Horizons wait pool registration system may allow you to select other schedules, UCSF’s centers have just the three options listed above.
- You’ll pay the $75 fee to register for the UCSF child care wait pool directly through the Family Information Center. Wait pool registration/payment of the nonrefundable $75 fee does not guarantee placement.
- The $75 registration fee, per child, entitles you to join the wait pool of all four UCSF centers (list the centers in order of preference) and also the wait pools of as many non-UCSF Bright Horizons centers as you wish. Note: at Bright Horizons sites not affiliated with UCSF, you will not receive UCSF-specific wait pool priority and you will be subject to community tuition rates.
If you are having trouble registering or have questions regarding your Family Information Center account, please contact the Bright Horizons Family Information Center Support Team.
Step 2
Download and fill out the UCSF Affiliation Form. This form asks for your UCSF ID number, which is a 9-digit number (starting with “02”) that can be found by logging into MyAccess and clicking on “My ID” at the top of the page. E-mail the completed form to Bright Horizons Enrollment Manager Patricia Widders at pwidders@brighthorizons.com.
Step 3
A few days after you sign up for the wait pool via the Family Information Center, you will receive a wait pool registration confirmation e-mail from Bright Horizons Enrollment Manager Patricia Widders. If you do not receive this e-mail, please contact Patricia at pwidders@brighthorizons.com. Future questions about your wait pool status should also be directed to Patricia.
