To obtain a free-insulated cooler bag and ice packs you can either pick one up from the following locations listed or you can get one delivered to your work area by emailing us at lactationprogram@ucsf.edu and providing a UCSF Box number.
Freshly expressed or pumped human milk can be stored in an insulated cooler with frozen ice packs for up to 24 hours. Once you return home or to your destination, you can use the milk right away, store it in the refrigerator, or freeze it (CDC, 2023).
