The team ensures our utilities procurement meets UC sustainability policies and strives to reduce cost and price volatility through utility tariff analysis, rate and financial forecasting, demand response and energy conservation.
The team ensures UCSF complies with mandatory Federal, State and UC Policy reporting requirements.
- Federal - As the owner and operator of a Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant, UCSF is required to submit operational and generation data to the Energy Information Administration (EIA) monthly and annually.
- California - Assembly Bill 802 (AB802) requires that owners of commercial buildings larger than 50,000 square feet report annual whole building energy use data to the California State Energy Commission (CEC). Assembly Bill 32 (AB32), the Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006, requires annual reporting and compliance with the state’s Cap and Trade program administered by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
- University of California – UCSF must report to The Climate Registry (TCR) to track and verify UCSF’s greenhouse gas emissions and track compliance with UC’s Carbon Neutrality Initiative. Campus building information and energy use must be reported and submitted to UCOP annually to track compliance toward UC’s Energy Use Intensity (EUI) reduction goal.
