Facilities Managers (FMs) serve as Building Ambassadors for UCSF Guests, Staff, Faculty and Students. They serve the day-to-day and strategic needs of our business partners, while focusing on providing value for the UCSF community. There are four program elements. They include:
- Community Building - Utilize our Building Committees as a platform to share the building at a glance with key customers, discuss stakeholder priorities, provide customer solutions, and communicate project schedules, preventive maintenance schedules, utility shutdowns, campus and community relations, safety, and security.
- Compliance Management - Work in partnership with code and compliance officers to maintain a safe work environment. Examples of compliance deliverables include, but are not limited to: Annual Title 19 Inspections with Fire Marshal, Emergency Preparedness, Risk Management, AAALAC Accreditation, and EH&S assessment.
- Maintenance & Strategy - Manage and support building maintenance and repairs at campus facilities to ensure that the built environment is well-maintained and functional for our customer experience. Monitor building performance and work with Facilities Services Program Managers to make necessary adjustments.
- Risk Remediation - One of the first responders during an emergency incident. To minimize the impact on our campus community and building occupants, FMs mitigate, restore, and communicate resulting damages and repairs from emergencies such as floods, fire, vandalism, etc. FMs also partner with UCSF Risk Management and Insurance Services Team to help protect assets and minimize the loss to UCSF.
