To address current budget challenges and continue prioritizing support for learners, faculty, and staff, UCSF will adjust custodial cleaning schedules starting in summer 2025.
What’s Changing
Cleaning frequency will be reduced in lower-traffic areas, including:
- Hallways and stairwells
- Breakrooms, kitchenettes, and town centers
- Conference rooms and offices
Essential services will remain unchanged, including:
- Daily cleaning of restrooms and waste removal in high-use areas
- Service in clinical spaces, laboratories, classrooms, lactation rooms, and SLAs
- Centralized waste collection
Floor care and event support will be limited. We appreciate increased partnership from building occupants to report custodial needs as they arise.
Helping Us Respond Faster
Launching July 1, 2025, the new See It, Fix It tool will make it easier to report custodial issues directly. We encourage all faculty, staff, and learners to use this tool to help us stay responsive and maintain a clean, safe environment.
