March 1, 2023 is IBCLC Day! This is day to celebrate the exceptional services that IBCLCs provide to families and healthcare teams who support infant and family health. Thank you to all UCSF Lactation Consultants and all they do for patients, public health initiatives, research, and the UCSF working community! Meet UCSFs International Board Certified Lactation Consultants.

I became an IBCLC, because breastfeeding matters, providing breast milk to all babies matters. Physiologically and evolutionarily babies are born to breastfeed and are more likely to thrive when they can breastfeed. I became an IBCLC so that I could provide skilled support to mothers and babies and help them achieve their feeding goals. I like to meet people where they’re at and provide nonjudgmental support and education.
