Factoids
- Years at UCSF: Seven
- Role: Shuttle Driver
- Shuttle route: Bronze
What is your favorite part of the job?
Meeting people and giving light. I see the light in their eyes when they see me...when they know I arrive on time.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out at UCSF?
Do your job with dignity and integrity. Make sure you're focused. And treat people with respect. That's the only way to get respect, when you respect them.
What did you do before UCSF?
I worked for FedEx as a courier for five years.
What was the heaviest package you lifted by yourself?
100 pounds! Seriously, what's inside here? A gold bar? I'm only 5 foot 3! The smaller the package, the heavier it gets. One time, I had to deliver a carpet to Noe Valley and you know how it is—sometimes too many stairs. The owner had to help me in order to deliver it.
You are a bright, shining light! Every month, we will shine a light on one of our hardworking staff. Do you know a CLS staffer who deserves a little spotlight? Let us know by emailing, CLSMarketing@ucsf.edu.
