What do you really do at CLS?
I work with Elicia Rozic, who is the assistant director for development, training, and engagement, and we put our efforts into personal and professional development training to make sure that everyone is well-trained throughout. My area is with Elicia's, but my focus is also on engagement and building community.
How long have you worked at UCSF
It’s ten years this month (September).
What is your favorite part of the job?
I think personal growth and development. People Month is my favorite time of the year. Because everyone can focus on their personal and professional development. It's so important to develop oneself. I think CLS and UCSF do a fantastic job of giving people opportunities.
What advice would you give to someone just starting out at UCSF?
That's a really good question. I think I would tell them to go to a lot of events and expose themselves to different departments. There's such a great cross-collaboration between units at CLS.
Beverly's "dog-daughter" Chi Zen.
What did you do before coming to UCSF or CLS?
My background is in law, so I was a legal secretary and paralegal. I have a couple of decades of work in the legal field.
Where did you grow up?
Just born and bred in San Francisco.
What do you do for yourself when you're not working?
I really like spending time horseback riding when I can. I love dogs and, I recently lost my dog; she was everything. She was just so fun to be around nature.
I was just out in Pacifica on the beach, and I really liked watching all the birds fly onto the water.
I also enjoy hiking to stay fit and healthy.
